Like some of the other posters, I ordered an item from British Supermarket Worldwide two months ago. I've never received it and when I started inquiring via email 2 weeks ago, I've also not received a response. I tried phoning the number provided on their website during their listed business hours but it just rings and rings. I've sent now 4 emails but still nothing. I ended up emailing the Kent Council Trading Standards regarding the matter in hopes that this won't continue happening to other people. BEWARE!
To anybody thinking of using the services of this company.... PLEASE DON'T! I placed an order online on 27 July, paying in advance via SagePay. An email confirmation was received immediately and that was the first and only contact I have managed to achieve with this company. The telephone number supplied in the confirmation rings incessantly, with no scope for leaving a message. Emails receive no response and although SagePay inform me that they contacted the company, I am not aware that they received any answer, either. The address supplied in Herne Bay, Kent is a private house, which I have seen for myself as I live not far away. I did not call in at the address as I was waiting for the "reasonable time" (30 days) to elapse before cancelling the order. A recorded delivery letter to the address, informing the company of my intention to cancel the order under the Sale of Goods Act and the Distance Selling Regulations, has received no response, but has not been returned by the Post Office, so was presumably signed for.
To add to the mystery, the company has not actually taken the payment via SagePay and will not now be able to do so. I have now cancelled the order, am obviously without the goods ordered and have paid for a Recorded Delivery letter with no means of recouping the cost. I shall now try to persuade SagePay to kick this company into touch as one of their merchants and am enlisting my local Citizens' Advice Bureau's help. They intend to ask Kent County Council's Trading Standards Department to investigate britishsupermarketworldwide.com to ascertain whether the company is trading according to the relevant regulations.
In the meantime, please avoid this company like the plague!
PS to Trustpilot: what is the point of insisting on a minimum number of stars in a case like this? One star out of five is a score of 20%: quite ludicrous!
No confirmation of order, don't answer E-Mails or the telephone. Luckily paying by Paypal there is no loss. Do not inspire confidence to order from them as its been 2 weeks since I placed the order and still no sign of life from them. Their address shown on their Website is a residential house shown on Google Earth. It just seems too suspicious!!!
I studied in the UK for a couple of years and loved the culture. Food wise, was not an exception. So having a store where I can buy all the goodies I used to eat, at least can take me back to my student years. British Supermarket has all the cereals and cookies I love and much more! They anwer all your questions and ship quickly.
Dear Tudor, Just before last Christmas, Denise and I, had a wonderful holiday in London. We visited a lot of places, had a spin with London eye and shopping (of course). I strongly recommend you and your new wife to go visit and shopping there! Best wishes, Marius
I ordered a jar of marmalade for a special occasion for a new man in my life. It cost me £13 to deliver from teh UK to Germany. And never arrived. Not only that, but my emails querying why it hadn't arrived were never answered. I will be asking my credit card to refund the money as this company just doesn't seem to care.
I ordered all my British Christmas goodies a month before Christmas (being send to US- West coast). NEVER got them. Our parties have come and gone and we never got the items. Waste of $200! Tried contacting customer support repeatedly, but no one answers the phone. Tried emailing repeatedly, but NO ONE emails back! I check my spam daily in hopes that any reply has gone there, but no luck. Never again will I order from this company!
Ordered 15th of December for Delivery to Toronto Canada. So my friends got no Christmas present and I got the box delivered to me .I failed to double check the email they sent to me in the Christmas rush but when the box arrived to my home I immediately asked for a return and refund as I don't have any use for £137 worth of biscuits chocolates and tea bags.
Regardless of the fact the website says you can have a full refund within 7 days they will not refund the goods are they are "perishable." Biscuits and teabags etc . Long shelf life products. This is not a reputable company , will not answer the phone , has no customer service policy and will not fix mistakes..."and we purchased these products specifically for you for your order, we are unable accept returns". As with the other reviewer I will follow up this report to trading standards. Generally a terrible expensive mistake .
I ordered goods 4 weeks ago. They have taken the money from my credit card account but so far I have received nothing. Not even an email to say what has happened. Website has no phone number to contact, email gets an auto response. Still hoping to get the goods, but not counting on it. Never use again. Will report to Trading Standards if I don't get something from them soon.
